VP3D is the latest in VR spray paint training from VirtualPaint. Advancements in VR technology have enabled the cost-effective development of a fully-immersive workshop environment utilising the VIVE by HTC. The user wears a VR headset and operates and industrial spray controller (modified with tracking technology) to simulate spray finishing of 3D parts in a paint booth.
The primary components of the VP3D software consist of atomised droplet simulation, paint booth environment, spray gun modelling, part modelling, precise tracking, real-time performance feedback, realistic data and VR interface. This software offers film thickness accumulation view, session capture and playback functionality, gun model as well as a number of default part potions, part models and virtual coatings.
Supported by customisable lesson plans and immediate feedback, the system allows users to practice and perfect their technique as many times as they like without additional setup or clean-up times or costs.
