The electric motor is one of the central elements of a HV system. The motor generates the necessary drive or braking torque that accelerates or slows down the vehicle and feeds electrical energy back into the HV battery.

Due to the high currents flowing through the electric motor, it is exposed to a high thermal load and various disturbances or defects can occur. The HV specialist must therefore be able to identify and eliminate these possible faults.
