Tonsley TAFE holds Open Day for state-of-the-art vocational training facilities

Tonsley TAFE, located in the Sustainable Industries Education Centre in Adelaide, South Australia, threw open its doors to the public yesterday for all to see its impressive new facilities.

The campus cleverly brings together all building and construction trades in the one place including refrigeration and air-conditioning, electrical installation, plumbing, carpentry and joinery, painting and decorating and much more. The result is an environment similar to that found in industry and one that goes towards better preparing students for the workforce.

Within the first couple of hours of the open day, thousands had already been on personalised tours of the various trade areas and classrooms. These areas incorporate leading edge technologies that will give students and teachers access to world-leading resources and provide some of the best opportunities for students to develop their knowledge and skills.

Training Systems Australia is proud to be a major supplier of didactic equipment and blended learning solutions to Tonsley TAFE. Following the recent installation of items including refrigeration training equipment and electro-technology teaching systems from our Lucas-Nülle range, several of our team also joined the open day and enjoyed another tour of the facilities.

Those that we talked with on the day were hugely impressed with what the TAFE could offer its students, reported to be 6,500 in number, by way of education and hands-on experience and were proud to see such a modern and innovative education centre "in our backyard".
